Consistent Effort Delivers a Solid Olympic Finish Tyler Bangerter completed the Olympic distance in 3:13:27, finishing 757th overall out of 1,987 athletes and 47th in the competitive 45-49 age group. His day broke down into a 33:05 swim, a 4:38 T1, a 1:27:42 bike leg, a 2:50 T2, and a 1:05:14 run a well-paced effort across all three disciplines. The bike leg stood out, averaging roughly 16.7 mph over the course, with one standout stretch where he hit nearly 18.6 mph. That surge shows strong power output when conditions allowed him to open up. His run held steady in the 10-11 minute per mile range, a solid effort after over two hours of racing. One area to sharpen: T1 took nearly two minutes longer than T2, suggesting some time could be gained with a quicker swim-to-bike transition. Overall, a well-executed race with clear strength on the bike.
