Athenian Division Champion Powers Through with a Standout Bike Leg Lisa Tanner claimed the top spot in the Athenian division for the second consecutive Spudman appearance, a testament to her consistency in this category. Her bike leg was a definite highlight, averaging roughly 19.4 mph across the course a pace that vaulted her into the top 15% of the overall field on the bike and secured her the fastest Athenian bike split of the day. Compared to her 2022 and 2024 finishes at Spudman, this year's overall time was a bit slower, suggesting there may be some gains available in the swim and transitions to help her recapture that faster overall pace. Still, her strength on the bike continues to be a clear asset, and building on that momentum with sharper transitions could help her close the gap to her personal best times at this race.
