Fast Swim and Powerful Bike Set the Tone for a Strong Olympic Finish Dale Catt turned in a strong swim leg at the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon, exiting the water in the top 15% of his field overall, ranking 122nd of 1,987 finishers and 14th in his division after the swim. He carried that momentum onto the bike, holding an impressive average speed of roughly 17.1 mph, a segment that clearly played to his strengths and helped him stay well-positioned through the midpoint of the race. The run proved more challenging, as Dale settled into a steady rhythm in the 9:309:40 per mile range, ultimately finishing in 2:52:15. He placed 349th overall and 53rd in the Men's 35-39 division. With such a strong swim-bike combination, continued focus on building run endurance off the bike could help him close the gap even further in future races.
