Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Scott Stanger #3278 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Steady Bike Power Highlights a Solid All-Around Finish Scott completed the Olympic-distance event in 3:10:07, finishing 694th overall out of 1,987 and 14th in his newly entered 55-59 age division. His swim was efficient and smooth, and his transitions were crisp, with a quick T1 of under four minutes. The standout of the day was his cycling leg covering the bike course at roughly 19.3 mph, a pace that moved him up significantly in the standings, from 1352nd after the swim to 400th by the first bike checkpoint. The run proved to be the toughest of the three disciplines today, with his overall place slipping slightly by the finish. Compared to his previous two Spudman appearances (2:55:49 in 2025 and 3:02:51 in 2024), this year's overall time was a bit slower, suggesting the run could be a good focus area moving forward. Still, his bike strength and consistent transitions show a well-rounded and experienced racer capable of strong overall performances.
