Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Jason Cardinet #3057 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Strong Bike Leg Fuels Improved Division Standing Jason Cardinet returned to the Olympic-distance field in Burley with a performance that showed real strength on two wheels. His bike leg averaged nearly 19 mph, a clear highlight of the day and the engine behind a top-10 finish in the 60-64 age group. That bike speed helped him climb from 14th in his division last year to 8th this time, along with notable jumps in both his overall and gender rankings compared to his 2025 Spudman result. While his overall elapsed time was a bit slower than last year's, the improved placements suggest a stronger field-relative effort. The run leg held steady pace through the middle miles before tapering slightly late, a common pattern worth monitoring in training. Transition time, particularly out of the swim, offers a area to sharpen for next season. Overall, a solid follow-up performance at Spudman with clear gains in competitive positioning.
