Bike Strength Fuels a Strong Overall Sprint Finish Daniel Holverson turned in a well-rounded sprint triathlon debut at the 2026 Spudman, finishing 63rd overall out of 570 and 11th in the competitive 20-29 age group. His swim set a solid foundation, but it was the bike leg where he truly shinedcovering the course at nearly 16 mph, a pace that moved him up dozens of spots in the field and showcased strong cycling fitness. Transitions were efficient, with a quick 1:18 T2 helping him carry momentum into the run. His 5K run split settled into a steady rhythm, holding close to 9:30-9:45 per mile through the mid-run before finding a strong closing kick near the finish. With a fast bike already in his toolkit, sharpening run pacing off the bike could be a great focus for continued growth in future sprint events.
