Bike Strength Fuels a Big Year-Over-Year Leap Hayden Hanson finished the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 2:52:50, shaving 3:44 off last year's 2:56:34 finish. That improvement translated to a significant jump in the standings from 717th to 360th overall, and from 568th to 304th among men, while also climbing 14 spots in his division (40th vs. 54th). The bike leg was clearly the highlight, covering roughly 24.4 miles in 1:18:22 for an average speed near 18.7 mph, at one point moving into the top 125 overall on course. The 24:45 swim was steady, though it ranked lower relative to the field, presenting an opportunity to close the gap next time. The 1:02:04 run rounded out the day with consistent pacing across the final miles, capping off a well-executed, faster performance than his previous outing on this course.
