Strong Bike Surges Power a Steady Olympic Finish Lempi Miller completed her Olympic-distance debut at Spudman in 4:57:30, finishing 1481st overall and 19th in the women's 50-54 division. Her swim exited the water in a competitive position before transitioning into a bike leg that showed real strength in the middle miles she climbed as high as 486th and 493rd overall during two mid-course bike segments, averaging roughly 10.8 mph across the full 24-mile ride. The run proved more of a grind, with pacing settling into the high teens and 20-minute-mile range in the later miles, dropping her back through the field slightly by the finish. Still, Miller's ability to surge on the bike suggests untapped potential sharpening run-leg consistency in training could translate her cycling strength into a stronger overall placement next time out.
