Steady Progress Culminates in a Breakthrough Performance Eric Killoy turned in his fastest Spudman finish yet, crossing the line in 2:43:32 nearly 20 minutes faster than his previous best and over 36 minutes ahead of his 2022 result. That improvement pushed him from a 2023 finish outside the top 700 to 213th overall out of 1,987 finishers this year, and 20th in the competitive 40-44 age group. The bike leg stood out as his strongest segment, where he averaged roughly 19.6 mph and moved up into the top 200 overall by the time he reached T2. He carried that momentum into a solid transition and run split, holding his position through the finish. With three consecutive Spudman appearances now on record, Eric's trajectory shows clear, consistent gains in overall fitness and race execution a trend worth building on for future events, particularly by looking for ways to close the gap even further between his bike and run performances.
