Strong Bike Move Undercut by a Fading Run Hayley Matthews, a Burley local racing in her home event, finished the sprint course in 2:18:51, placing 184th among women and 53rd in the 3039 age group. She came out of the swim in 22:07, sitting mid-pack overall, then surged on the bike, holding roughly 13.6 mph and climbing as high as 116th overall at the midpoint of the ride before settling into 290th by the dismount. The run told a different story, with her position slipping steadily from 260th at the start of the run to 363rd by the finish linea sign that the bike effort may have cut into her run legs. Compared to her 2025 Spudman sprint time of 2:15:44, this year's result was about three minutes slower. The swim and bike still show solid consistency on this course; tightening up run pacing after a strong ride could help close that gap next time out.
