Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Ridger Schenck #5261 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Strong Bike Leg Can't Offset a Fading Finish Ridger Schenck completed the Olympic distance in 4:05:52, a step back from his 3:20:43 finish at last year's race. While the overall time slipped, his bike leg stood out cruising in the 13-14 mph range for most of the course and hitting a peak near 15.8 mph on one flatter stretch, a clear strength worth building on. The run told a different story. Early miles clicked along near 13:41/mile, but the pace steadily climbed past 17:00/mile by the final stretch, signaling significant fatigue in the closing miles. Given the strong bike split, dialing in a more even run pacing strategy perhaps through negative-split training runs after biking could help him close the gap between his cycling strength and running endurance in future races.
