Strong Bike Split Anchors a Determined Olympic-Distance Effort Katie Maughan completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 2:59:09, finishing 477th overall out of 1,987 athletes and 83rd among women. That's a step back from her 2025 Spudman result of 2:43:14, where she placed 426th overall and 64th in the women's field a gap that points to room for sharpening overall pacing rather than any single segment. The bike leg was clearly Katie's strength this year, averaging roughly 17.8 mph across the course, with one standout stretch near mile 22 where she held nearly 19 mph for over 16 miles. Her run settled into a steady rhythm around 10:14 per mile over the final six-plus miles. With T1 taking 6:25, tightening that transition could help her close the gap toward reclaiming her faster 2025 form.
