A Major Leap Forward From Last Year Taylor delivered a standout improvement at this year's Olympic-distance race, slicing more than an hour off his previous finish time. The swim was a clear highlight he exited the water in 19:25, good for 111th overall and 12th in his age division, showing real strength and confidence in the current. The bike leg carried solid momentum, with Taylor averaging roughly 16.7 mph across the course and holding a top-quarter position in his division through T2. The run proved more challenging by comparison, where his pace eased compared to the bike split. Sharpening run fitness could be the next lever for continued gains, especially given how much progress he's already shown from race to race. Overall, this was a performance built on a strong swim and steady bike, with a clear path forward on the run.
