Steady Climb Through the Field Fueled by a Strong Bike Leg Spencer Egbert turned in a well-rounded sprint triathlon performance, finishing in 1:50:10 and climbing steadily throughout the race. After exiting the water in 26:02, he made quick work of T1 in 3:38 and hit the bike course with strong intent, riding the 12.45-mile bike leg in 47:55 an average of roughly 15.6 mph. That bike split was clearly a strength, as he jumped from 328th to 228th place overall during that stretch. A crisp T2 (3:14) kept his momentum going into the run, where he covered the 3.11-mile course in 29:23, averaging about 9:27 per mile. He continued to move up the standings through the run, finishing 151st overall out of 570 athletes, 91st among men, and 18th in the competitive 40-49 age group. Consistent gains across every transition point highlight a smart, progressively stronger race.
