Steady Pacing and a Bike Surge Fuel a Solid Olympic Finish Carter Peterson completed the Olympic-distance Spudman in 3:05:08, finishing 611th overall out of 1,987 and 84th in the men's 35-39 division. The bike leg was his strongest segment, averaging roughly 17.9 mph over the course, highlighted by a standout mid-ride stretch where he hit nearly 19.8 mphwell above his overall bike average and a clear high point of the race. The run told a story of early strength followed by a gradual fade, opening with a brisk 10:26 mile before settling into the 12-minute range by mile 30. Peterson found another gear late, closing the final tenth of a mile at a 5:37 pace for a strong finish. Transitions were efficient, with T1 and T2 combined taking just over seven minutes, helping keep his overall race well-paced from start to finish.
