Strong Bike Leg Propels Solid Olympic-Distance Finish Joseph turned in a well-rounded Olympic triathlon performance, anchored by an impressive bike leg. Averaging close to 19.6 mph over roughly 24 miles, he moved up significantly in the field during the rideclimbing from over 400th place after the swim to as high as 68th overall at one point, with several miles clocked near 21 mph. The swim was solid, and transitions were efficient, setting up the strong cycling stretch. The run showed some fade in the closing miles, with pace slipping from the 9:30s to the 11-minute range late in the race. Compared to his 2025 Spudman result, Joseph's overall time was about nine minutes slower this year, though his overall placement actually improved from 382nd to 312th. The bike remains his standout strengthcontinued run pacing work in the second half could help him close out future races with more consistency.
