Bike Strength Highlights a Well-Rounded Olympic-Distance Effort Kyle Hanson completed his Olympic-distance race in 3:14:05, moving through the course with a swim of 23:12 and quick transitions of 4:45 and 2:38. His bike leg stood out significantly, covering the ride at roughly 17.3 mph, which pushed him from 33rd to 28th in his 25-29 age division by the end of the bike course his best positional gain of the day. This strength on two wheels was clearly the highlight of his race. The run proved tougher for Kyle, as his position gradually slipped from 33rd to 58th in his division through the final miles. Given the strong bike showing, there may be an opportunity to build more run durability off the bike to carry that momentum into the finish. Kyle finished 613th among men and 769th overall out of 1,987 participants, a solid showing with clear potential to climb further with continued run development.
