Steady Effort Marks a Step Back From Peak Form Mark Arehart returned to Spudman for a third consecutive year, completing the Olympic distance in 3:21:54. This finish came in slower than his previous two showings 3:04:40 in 2024 and a personal best 3:02:28 in 2025 reflecting a tougher day across all three disciplines. His overall placement (904th of 1,987) and division rank (40th in his age group) also slipped compared to last year's stronger 830th overall and 43rd-place division finish. On the bike, Mark maintained a strong pace of roughly 16.8 mph, a bright spot in the race and a testament to solid cycling fitness. The run, however, showed more fatigue, with pacing slowing steadily over the final miles. Building more run endurance late in the race could help him close the gap between his cycling strength and overall finishing time in future events.
