Steady Pacing and a Powerful Bike Leg Highlight a Well-Rounded Sprint Effort Daniele Longhurst turned in a well-balanced performance at the 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon, finishing in 1:57:16 and placing 7th in her 50-59 age group. Her bike leg stood out as the strongest segment, averaging roughly 14.6 mph over the course, with several strong stretches including one split hitting nearly 18 mph that pushed her as high as 4th in her division mid-ride. This aggressive bike pacing helped her climb from 11th place after the swim to a much stronger position heading into the run. The run leg saw her settle into a consistent 10:0011:00 min/mile pace, closing out the race with composure after a strong bike effort. Transitions were efficient, with a quick T2 helping preserve overall momentum. Longhursts ability to gain ground significantly on the bike suggests continued strength in cycling, while a slightly faster swim could help her carry even more momentum into the ride next time.
