A Strong Swim Leads to a Grinding Finish Ryan Wallis completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 4:06:40, highlighted by a strong swim leg that ranked 359th overall and 284th among men. He carried that momentum onto the bike, covering the roughly 24.4-mile course at an average of just over 11 mph, then closed with a 1:07:50 run that included a strong finishing kick dropping to a 4:58 pace over the final tenth of a mile. This result marks his fourth appearance at Spudman, and while his swim and run performances remained competitive, his overall time was his slowest at this race to date, trailing his 2023 finish of 2:48:44 by well over an hour. A notable factor was a 17:55 T1 split, considerably longer than in previous years tightening up time spent in transition could be a good focus for his next race.
