A Slower Day, But Signs of Bike Strength Owen Wallis completed the Olympic-distance Spudman Triathlon in 4:15:50, placing 1403rd overall and 988th among men. After a 34-minute swim, he settled into the bike leg, averaging roughly 13.2 mph overallbut showing real strength in the middle miles, where his pace climbed to nearly 17 mph between miles 9 and 14. The run told a tougher story: early miles held near 13:00 pace before fatigue set in, and his final miles slowed well past 15:00 per mile. Compared to his 2022 Spudman finish of 3:20:47, this result marks a step back in both time and placement, with his overall rank dropping from 1002nd to 1403rd.
