Steady Pacing Highlighted by a Standout Bike Surge Robert Jackson completed the Olympic-distance Spudman Triathlon in 3:03:24, finishing 578th overall out of 1,987 athletes, 473rd among men, and 80th in the competitive 35-39 age group. His swim leg benefited from the Snake River's current, and both transitions were crisp, with T1 and T2 combined under eight minutesa sign of solid race-day efficiency. The bike course proved to be his strongest asset, particularly a five-and-a-half mile stretch where he averaged over 19 mph, jumping into the top 25 of his division at that point. That surge shows real strength and confidence on two wheels. The run leg settled into a consistent 10:47/mile average, though pacing dipped slightly in the final miles. Building some negative-split run training could help him carry that bike momentum into a stronger finish next time.
