Slower Split, Sharper Placement Kael McCleary closed out his 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:03:18, finishing 573rd overall out of 1,987 and 33rd in his 19-24 age division. While his overall time was about ten minutes slower than his previous two Spudman finishes (2:53:08 in 2024 and 2:54:15 in 2025), his placement actually improvedjumping from 42nd and 41st in his division to 33rd this year, and moving up from 749th and 671st overall. On the bike, McCleary averaged roughly 16.3 mph over the 25.36-mile course, maintaining a steady rhythm through the middle miles. His run showed solid control, opening at an 8:47 pace, easing slightly to 9:30 before closing strong with an 8:38 final mileevidence of good pacing discipline late in the race. A quick T2 of just over two minutes helped keep his transitions efficient.
