Strong Bike Effort Anchors a Steady Olympic-Distance Finish Garrett completed the Olympic triathlon in 3:20:36, placing 880th overall among 1,987 finishers and 92nd in his 30-34 age group. His swim came in at 22:48, followed by a swift transition into the bike leg, where he found his best formone stretch clocked a blistering 3:53/mile pace, translating to roughly 15.4 mph, showing real strength on two wheels. Overall bike pace settled around 14.4 mph across the 24-mile ride. The run told a different story, starting strong with a 9:47/mile opening mile before gradually slowing to an 11:26 and then 11:47 pace over the closing miles. This late fade suggests room to build more durability for the back half of the run. With a solid bike foundation already in place, targeted work on run pacing and late-race stamina could unlock a stronger overall finish next time out.
