Nearly 24 Minutes Faster: A Season of Major Gains Lance Leithead turned in a standout performance at this year's Olympic Triathlon, finishing in 3:06:35 a dramatic 23-plus minute improvement over his 2025 result of 3:30:17. That gain translated directly into the results: he climbed from 1210th to 633rd overall, and from 877th to 516th in his gender division, a jump of more than 350 spots each. The bike leg was a clear strength, with Lance covering the course at roughly 15.9 mph. His run also opened strong, with an 8:01 mile split right out of T2 before settling into a steadier rhythm over the remaining miles. With swim, bike, and run splits all trending faster than last year, this was a well-rounded step forward across every discipline a great sign of consistent training paying off heading into future races.
