Bike Strength Fuels a Steady Olympic-Distance Effort Skylar Hatch completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:36:01, with the bike leg standing out as the highlight of the day. Averaging roughly 16.7 mph over the ride, Skylar climbed significantly through the field during the middle portion of the course moving from 975th to 653rd overall and reaching 8th in the U40 Clydesdale division at one point, showing real power and consistency on two wheels. The run proved tougher to sustain, with per-mile pace gradually slipping from about 13:18 early on to over 15:00 by mile 31, though Skylar found a strong kick in the final stretch to close things out. Finishing 1089th overall out of 1987 athletes, the bike split clearly set up a competitive day dialing in a more even run pace could help Skylar carry that momentum all the way to the finish line next time.
