Runner-Up Finish Highlights a Strong All-Around Sprint Performance Ryan Smith turned in a well-rounded sprint triathlon effort, finishing 2nd in the competitive 50-59 age group and 59th overall out of 570 athletes. His swim time of 16:37 set a solid foundation, followed by a quick 4:10 transition into the bike leg. On the bike, Ryan averaged roughly 16.5 mph, showing consistent power through the middle miles, including a strong push around the 3.95-mile mark where he climbed into the top 25 overall. The run leg showcased some of his best form, particularly a standout segment between miles 12 and 14.78 where he moved into 8th place overall with a 9:10/mile pace. While his overall run pace settled a bit after that surge, the early speed indicates strong run fitness. Ryans ability to close with a fast finishing kick, including a final quarter-mile pace under 3:30, capped off a well-executed race.
