Explosive Bike Leg Highlights a Determined Sprint Debut Aiden Juarez, 14, of Burley, ID, turned in a well-rounded showing at the Sprint Triathlon, anchored by a bike leg that averaged roughly 12.5 mph over 12.45 miles. That strength carried into the run, where he surged through the third running segment at an 11:48 pace, climbing to 40th in his gender and 7th in his 14-19 divisionthe strongest relative positioning of his entire race. The final miles proved tougher, as his run pace slowed to 14:19 and then 16:08 by the finish, settling him back into the 160s in his gender group. Building run endurance to sustain that mid-race intensity through the last mile could help him close out future races as strongly as he starts them.
