Steady Bike Power Fuels Solid Olympic-Distance Finish Kyler Smith completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:12:53, finishing 747th overall out of 1,987 athletes and 17th in the tightly competitive 1-19 Solo Male division. His 21:21 swim moved him into the top third of the field early, and he carried that momentum onto the bike, where he averaged roughly 14 mph over the 24.4-mile course. A standout stretch came early in the bike leg, where he climbed as high as 6th in his gender group before settling into a more moderate rhythm through the back half. The 1:00:18 run showed a strong opening mile near 10:00 pace, and one especially sharp split placed him 1st in his division at that checkpoint. Pacing dipped slightly through the middle running miles before a solid final push to the finish. Transitions were efficient, with T1 and T2 combined under 7:10, helping keep overall momentum on target throughout the race.
