Locked-In Consistency Highlighted by a Strong Ride Josh Hoggard turned in a near mirror image of his prior Spudman performance, finishing in 3:49:09 compared to 3:48:47 a year ago. His bike leg stood out, averaging roughly 13.2 mph over the course, a segment where he moved up significantly in the standings relative to his swim exit. Transitions were quick and efficient, costing him only a handful of minutes combined. The run told two different stories: he opened strong with sub-15:30 pace before fading into the 17:00-plus range over the final miles, mirroring a common pattern of early-race pacing catching up late. Despite the fade, Josh climbed into 87th in his new 40-44 division, an improvement from 109th in the 35-39 group last year. Dialing in even pacing on the run could unlock a stronger overall finish next time out.
