Strong Bike Split Fuels a Solid Olympic-Distance Finish Jon posted a well-rounded performance, highlighted by a bike leg that averaged roughly 22.4 mph over the course. That split moved him into the top 30 overall by the bike dismount, a significant jump from his position exiting the water. His transitions were efficient as well, with a 2:31 T1 and 3:37 T2, both contributing positively to his overall time of 2:19:43. The run began aggressively with a sub-7:00 opening mile before settling into a steady rhythm in the 7:107:22 range for the remainder of the course. This pacing pattern suggests strong early leg turnover that tapered slightly as fatigue set in. Jon finished 36th overall and 11th in the Elite Mens division, with the bike segment standing out as the clear strength of the day. Building a bit more control into that opening run mile could help him sustain closer to that early pace across the full distance in future races.
