Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Matt Latimer #4157 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Bike Strength Anchors a Well-Rounded Olympic Effort Matt completed his Olympic-distance race in 3:31:39, built around a bike leg that stood out as his strongest segment. Covering the bike course at roughly 15.1 mph, he showed real power on the road, highlighted by a blistering stretch through the fifth bike split where he clocked a 3:20/mile paceby far his fastest sustained effort of the day. That surge moved him into the top 300 overall at that point in the race, a clear sign of strong bike fitness. The swim came in at 32:14, an area where added focus could yield gains relative to his bike and run performances. T1 and T2 were efficient and consistent, each right around five minutes. On the run, Matt settled into a steady 11:34/mile pace for the bulk of the course, closing out with a strong final kick to the finish line.
