Bike Strength Carries a Solid Sprint Finish Mishawn Powell closed out her 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon in 2:17:56, moving from 383rd off the swim start to as high as 119th overall during the bike leg. Her bike split averaged roughly 13.3 mph over the course, a clear high point that pushed her well into the front half of the 570-person field before settling into 294th by the dismount. The run proved the tougher half of the day, with her position slipping to 361st overall by the finish, 182nd among women, and 34th in the 40-49 age group. The gap between her bike surge and run pace suggests that dedicating some training focus to run durability off the bike could help her hold those hard-earned positions through the finish line in future races.
