Local Athlete Delivers a Powerhouse Bike Leg to Anchor Olympic Finish Racing on home turf in Burley, Angela Sculthies turned in a well-paced Olympic distance performance, finishing in 3:22:21 and landing 14th in the womens 45-49 division. Her bike leg was the standout of the dayhitting speeds as high as 15.7 mph through the midpoint stretch, a pace that moved her up significantly in the field during that segment. The swim and transitions were solid building blocks, but the bike carried the most momentum, with several miles clocked well under 4:00/mile pace. The run settled into a consistent rhythm around 10:30-10:40 per mile, and Angela found another gear in the final stretch, closing with a strong kick to the finish line. Overall, a balanced day with the bike leg clearly the highlightcontinuing to sharpen run pacing off the bike could help her close the gap even further in future races.
