Strong Bike Split Anchors a Solid Olympic-Distance Finish Travis Jewett completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 2:42:24, finishing 196th overall and 22nd in the 30-34 age group. His bike leg stood out, covering the 24.39-mile course in 1:16:00 for an average speed of roughly 19.3 mph, with several mid-race segments dipping below 3:00/mile pace before settling into a steady rhythm through the final miles. Compared to his 2025 Spudman result of 2:23:20, this year's time was about 19 minutes slower, with drops in both swim (20:41) and run (59:52) pace contributing to the difference. Transitions were efficient, with T1 in 3:28 and T2 in 2:26. Travis's run pace hovered near 9:38/mile, holding steady across most of the course before easing slightly in the closing miles. Building more run consistency off the bike could help him close the gap to last year's faster overall finish.
