A Powerful Bike Leg Fuels a Steady Endurance Performance Dan McConkie completed the Olympic Triathlon in 3:01:39, finishing 532nd overall out of 1,987 athletes and 29th in the men's 50-54 division. This result comes after three consecutive years of improvement at this race 2:54:06 in 2023, 2:50:13 in 2024, and a personal best of 2:42:38 in 2025 making this year's time a step back from that trend. The bike was clearly Dan's strongest discipline, averaging roughly 17.6 mph overall. One standout stretch a 5.6-mile segment covered in 16:16 saw him hit nearly 20.7 mph, good for the 2nd-fastest split in his age group at that point in the race. The swim came in at 27:58, and he maintained a consistent effort through the run to close out the race. With such strong cycling speed, sharpening swim and transition efficiency could help him move closer to his 2025 form.
