Bike Strength Fuels Steady Olympic Finish Brett Stevens turned in a well-rounded Olympic-distance performance at Spudman, highlighted by a strong ride that averaged roughly 17.2 mph across the bike leg. That effort was clearly his strongest segment, propelling him from outside the top 1,000 overall after the swim into the low 400s by the bikes midpoint a significant climb through the field that showed real power and consistency on two wheels. The swim and run were solid complements to that bike surge, with Brett holding a steady rhythm on the run to close out the race in 3:02:44. While his overall position settled in the 550s by the finish, the bike split stands out as the highlight of the day. Sharpening swim efficiency could help him carry more of that bike-leg momentum into an even stronger overall result next time.
