Strong Swim Sets the Tone in a Well-Paced Olympic Effort Jack Stevens, a 12-year-old triathlete from Sandy, Utah, completed the Olympic distance at Spudman in 2:59:23, finishing 482nd overall and 25th in the non-competitive division. His swim was a standout placing 250th overall out of the water, more than 200 spots better than his final finishing position, a strong indicator of his swimming ability relative to the field. On the bike, Jack held a steady average pace of roughly 16.1 mph across the course, with his quickest stretch coming through the middle miles at a 3:32/mile split. He carried that momentum into the run, closing with a 8:47 mile pace that was noticeably faster than his opening run mile of 9:37 a sign of smart energy management late in the race. Transitions were sharp, especially T2 at 3:40, though a slightly quicker T1 could shave a little more time off future results.
