Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Jake Douglas #6070 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Strong Bike Split Powers a Top-15 Division Finish Jake Douglas turned in a well-rounded Olympic-distance performance, highlighted by a bike leg that averaged just over 17.1 mph across the 24+ mile course. That effort helped him move steadily through the field, climbing from 39th in his 25-29 age group after the swim to finish 14th in division and 201st among all men. His swim was solid and set up a clean transition, while his run showed good composure, holding pace in the 7:358:16/mile range for the majority of the course before closing strong with a final push to the finish line. Overall, this was a consistent, well-executed race with no major weak links. The bike leg stands out as the clear strength, and the run splits suggest good endurance and pacing discipline after a tough two-sport start. Building a bit more top-end speed in the closing miles of the run could be a good focus for future races, as the data shows he still had another gear in the final stretch.
