Strong Bike Splits Anchor a Determined Sprint Effort Mark Heath finished the Spudman Sprint Triathlon in 2:42:51, placing 423rd overall out of 570, 201st among men, and 20th in the competitive 60-69 age group. After exiting the water in the mid-400s, Mark made significant ground on the bike course, climbing into the low 300s by the final miles. His bike splits showed strong, steady power cruising at paces equivalent to roughly 12 to nearly 15 mph over the 12.45-mile course, a solid showing for the discipline. Both transitions ran long, with T1 and T2 each taking over 10 minutes an area where trimming time could yield meaningful overall gains in future races. The run leg settled into a consistent rhythm across its just-over-3-mile distance, helping Mark close out the race with a steady final placement. Overall, a well-rounded performance with the bike leg standing out as the clear strength of the day.
