Strong Swim Leads the Way, Run Splits Tell the Real Story Gregg Sagers turned in a 2:55:34 finish at this year's Olympic-distance race, highlighted by a swift 20:26 swim that landed him 198th overall and 26th in his division exiting the water. He carried that momentum onto the bike, holding a strong pace of roughly 17.9 mph over the 24-mile ride, good for 149th among men at the dismount. The run proved the toughest leg relative to the field, with Gregg settling into a 10:49/mile pace that saw him slip to 338th among men by the finish. Compared to his previous Spudman efforts, this result marks a solid bounce-back from 2024's 3:26:19, though it trails his 2023 personal best of 2:30:57. Sharpening run fitness could help him close the gap between his bike and run splits in future races.
