Consistent Progress Fuels a Stronger Finish Stratton Baugh closed out the 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon in 1:36:29, a notable improvement over his 2025 finish of 1:39:12. That gain moved him from 98th to 45th overall and from 17th to 9th in the 20-29 age group, showing steady development across the season. His swim was efficient, and his transitions were crisp, with T1 and T2 combined taking just over six minutes. The bike leg stood out as a strength, covering 13.17 miles at roughly 16.75 mph, a pace that placed him well within the top third of his field at several points along the course. He carried solid momentum into the run, holding close to an 8:22 per mile pace over the final 3.11 miles. Continuing to build bike-to-run transitions could help him close even more places in future editions, as his run splits show he has the endurance to negative split under the right pacing strategy.
