Strong Bike Split Fuels a Hard-Fought Finish Brian Mills completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 4:39:23, powered by a strong bike leg that averaged roughly 13.6 mph across the course. His swim also kept him well-positioned early, helping set up a smooth transition into the ride, where he built solid momentum through the middle miles. The run leg proved to be the toughest part of his day, with his pace slowing noticeably in the second half. This contributed to a finish about 28 minutes off his 2024 Spudman time of 4:11:47. Given the strength he showed on the bike, dedicating some training focus to run endurance and pacing could help him close that gap and post an even more balanced performance next time out.
