Bike Power Fuels a Strong Step Up to Olympic Distance Tyler Rowland made his first appearance at the Olympic distance in 2026 after two solid sprint outings at Spudman in 2022 and 2024. He carried real strength on the bike, averaging roughly 15.2 mph over the 24-mile course, and delivering a standout 5.6-mile stretch at nearly 18.3 mph clearly his best segment of the day and a signal of strong power on faster terrain. The swim and both transitions were efficient and unremarkable in a good way, keeping him in position heading onto the run. The run told a different story, with pacing sliding from an opening mile near 13:42 to the mid-17:00s by the final miles. Tightening up late-race run consistency could be the clearest lever for improvement as Tyler continues building on this Olympic-distance debut, which he completed in 3:52:45.
