Bike Split Fuels Strong Age-Group Finish Tessa Stevens turned in a well-rounded Olympic-distance performance, finishing 2nd in the 1-19 Solo Female division and 87th among all women. After a steady swim and a brisk T1, she found her rhythm on the bike, holding splits as fast as 3:023:05 per mile and averaging roughly 18 mph over the 24-mile ride good enough for the division lead at multiple checkpoints along the course, including a 42:49 mid-bike segment that moved her into the top 60 women overall. The run proved tougher to sustain that momentum, with pacing settling between 10:00 and 11:41 per mile as fatigue set in over the final miles. Still, Tessa crossed the line in 3:00:24, capping a race defined by a standout bike leg and a runner-up divisional finish at just 16 years old a strong foundation to build run endurance on for future starts.
