Bike Strength Powers a Determined Olympic Finish Deanne Andrus turned in a strong all-around performance at the Spudman Olympic Triathlon, highlighted by a bike leg where she averaged roughly 15.1 mph over the course, moving up significantly in the standings during that segment. She reached as high as 2nd in her 60-64 age division at several points on the bike, showing real strength and consistency on two wheels. Her swim was smooth and controlled, transitioning efficiently into a bike leg that clearly played to her strengths. The run proved the most demanding stretch of her day, where she settled into a steady rhythm to close out the race. Overall, Andrus finished 7th in her 60-64 division and 312th among female finishers a race defined by a standout bike performance and the grit to bring it home on the run.
