Consistent Splits Power a Top-Five Age Group Finish Trey Dent turned in a well-rounded performance at this year's Spudman Sprint Triathlon, finishing 31st overall out of 570 athletes and 5th in the competitive 1-19 Male division. His swim was steady, exiting the water in the top 40 overall, and he built on that with a strong bike legaveraging roughly 16.4 mphthat moved him up through the field to 34th by the dismount. The run proved to be his strongest asset relative to the competition, climbing from 34th to 26th in his gender group by the finish. T1 stood out as an area to sharpen, costing him time and positions early on, while T2 was crisp and efficient. Overall, a balanced day with a bike-to-run combination that should give Trey confidence heading into future races.
