Steady Progression Puts Him Among the Elite Mens Top Five Ethan Updike finished the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 2:11:38, placing 13th overall and 4th in the Elite Mens division among 1,987 finishers. This continues a three-year trend at Spudman, following a 2:07:14 (30th overall, 1st in 19-24) in 2024 and a 2:10:35 (24th overall, 12th Elite Men) in 2025 a testament to consistent performance on this course. His swim was a strong point, clocking 16:46 for 18th overall and 2nd among Elite Men. On the bike, he averaged roughly 22.7 mph over the 24.4-mile ride, holding a top-10 position throughout.
