Race Recap powered by Laurel Intelligence

Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Kevin Brown #7029 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Steady Bike Power Fuels a Solid Olympic Finish Kevin Brown completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:16:09, finishing 801st overall out of 1,987 athletes and 637th among men. After a swim leg on the current-assisted Snake River, Kevin moved into transition with a swift T1. His bike leg stood out for its progression starting around 13 mph but building into several strong stretches between 1516 mph in the middle-to-late miles, showing good sustained power once he found his rhythm. A quick 1:29 T2 kept his momentum rolling into the run. The run began strong, with an opening mile near 8:56, but the pace gradually slowed to around 11:0011:07 per mile by the final stretch. This late fade suggests room to work on pacing strategy for the back half of the run, perhaps by holding back slightly early to preserve energy. Overall, Kevin's race showed strong bike fitness and a fast start on the run dialing in even pacing could unlock an even stronger finish next time.
