A Solid Finish Marked by a Strong Bike Leg and Late-Race Fatigue Shelby Finch completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 4:05:09, finishing 387th among 1,987 women and 24th in the Elite Women division. Her bike leg stood out as the highlight of the day, averaging roughly 13.9 mph over the course, showing consistent power through the middle miles. The swim leg was steady, but both transitionsespecially T1added notable time to her overall race. Compared to her 2022 Spudman finish of 3:15:15, this result reflects a slower pace across the board, particularly on the run, where mile splits show significant fatigue in the closing miles. Sharpening run pacing and tightening transition times could help Shelby close the gap toward her previous performance. The bike strength she displayed this year is a strong foundation to build on for future races.
